Services for Floyd K. Younger, 86, of Longview will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Memory Park Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Friday morning, April 13, in a Kilgore nursing facility.
Born January 15, 1926 in Wichita, KS to Daniel F. and Gertie Younger, he was a barber for 52 years and former owner/operator of Floyd's Barber Shop in downtown Longview. He was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Navy and a former Gregg County Sheriff's Reserve Officer and he enjoyed flying.
Mr. Younger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bettye Younger; and his son, Daniel Younger; sister, Hazel Stephens.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Nancy Gilstrap and her husband, Corey; grandchildren, Trevor Markham and Jacob Gilstrap; great grandson Nathan Markham; sister, Dorothy Bryant; special nieces, Margarette Trout, Barbara Braziel, Laura Holmes and Shaula Stephens; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
