Graveside services for Evelyn Spottswood Richmond, 94, of McKinney formerly of Longview will be held at 10 AM Tuesday May 26, 2009 at Grace Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Turner officiaitng. Interment will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Mrs. Richmond passed away Wednesday May 20, 2009 in McKinney.
Mrs. Richmond was born September 28, 1914 in Longview to R. W. Spottswood and Ronda McJimsey Spottswood. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Paulsen and husband Michael of Allen, Texas; nephews, Richard W. Spottswood III and wife Diana of Gretna, LA.; Hal S. Spottswood and wife Karen of Granbury, TX.; niece Ronda Deso and husband Matt of Lucas, TX.
Mrs. Richmond graduated from Longview High School and Tyler Commercial College. She was employed by the City of Longview for over 30 years and retired from the Gregg County Appraisal District in July of 1984.
She has been a life member of the First United Methodist Church and since her retirement has served as a volunteer at the church and the Gregg County Historical Museum. Mrs. Richmond was a charter member of the Thelma Morgan Sunday School Class, a member of the Gregg County Historical Museum and the Garden Study Club.
Those desiring to do so may make memorial contributions to a charity of their choice.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday May 25, 2009 from 3-5 pm
