Evelyn Carlisle Griffin Moore passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
The funeral will be a private family graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Longview, TX.
Evelyn was born November 4, 1930 in LaGrange, Georgia to Mildred and David Carlisle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Roy Griffin and also her husband of 5 years, James Moore.
In 1950 she met and married Roy Griffin of LaGrange, Georgia. They lived in Georgia and later Texas raising 3 children together. Residing for many years in Longview, she worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance and was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Senior Choir. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, cooking and knitting.
She is survived by her daughter Melody Shuford, and husband Joe, daughter Pam Gosschalk, and husband Robert, and son David Griffin, and wife Suzy. Step Children include Cathy Vestal, Janie Wallace and husband Kevin and Melba Stevens and husband David as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other family members include brothers Eugene Carlisle, Howard Carlisle and their families.
For all of their compassionate care, the family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Arabella Assisted Living and Compass Hospice.
