Evelyn Blalock
Funeral services for Evelyn Blalock, 72, of Lake Cherokee will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Tim Whedbee officiating. Private interment will be in Hallsville Cemetery. She passed away Saturday, June 4, at Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House in Longview.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born September 5, 1938 in Hallsville to Hulon Leslie Blalock, Sr. and Pauline Knight Blalock and was a lifetime resident of the area. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hallsville and a member of the Eastern Star. Evelyn received her master of education degree from East Texas State University in Commerce and enjoyed a lengthy teaching and coaching career.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Hulon Leslie Blalock, Jr. and wife Sharron and their daughter Stephanie Richardson and husband Aaron and their son Henry; sister, Paula Parker and husband Keith, and their son Casey Joe Parker and daughter Nicole Parker and her son Blaine; and special friend and travel companion Anita Fennell.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House, 5016 Gilmer Rd., Longview, TX 75604.
