Funeral services for Eugene Conrad Elvick, age 91, will be held at 11:00am Tuesday May 28, 2013 in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson with Rev. David Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held May 28 from 10am-11am.
Mr. Elvick passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Longview, TX. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on October 5, 1921 to Magnus and Florence Elvick. Mr. Elvick married his wife Frances on October 6, 2001. Eugene retired from the military, having served in the Air Force and the Army as a Tech Sergeant and Military Police. He was a lifetime member of the Henderson VFW post 8595, a lifetime member of the Marshall VFW and also the DAV.
Survivors include his wife Frances Elvick of Longview, 3 sons; Dwight Elvick, Larry Elvick & wife Frances, Kenneth Elvick & Wife Barbara, a daughter Karen Smith, sister Phyllis Faulkner, step-children; Billy Wilson & Irene, Freddie Wilson & Betty, Danny Wilson & Margaret, Alvis & Sandy Wilson, Shirley Jureski & James, Judy & Lynn Holt, Connie & Ken Hicks, grand-children; David & Dwayne Elvick, Joshua Smith and Dwight C. Elvick, numerous step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
