With all my great feeling I feel sorry for the passing away of Mr. Erwin.

I'm a person from Saudi Arabia my name is Saud, and I'm trying to get a patent in the field of heavy machinery that to run machinery by motor in stead of engine and I found Mr. Stoldt patent in the first patent cited by US patent office, it is really helpful Idea to run heavy machinery by motors specially second hand machinery or the rebuild heavy machinery it is so expensive and the Idea of Mr.Stoldt is very helpful I wish it can become true with rebuild machinery, to help lots of fields.

When I first came to Longview, I was amazed are the Letournea plant and thought it would be a dream job come true to work there. In the early 90's, Mr. Stoldt gave me that opportunity. I still remember the interview process in the Mining Division conference room (old barracks building), with him and his crew. I remember a grueling interview. After making sure I would fit in, he was a wonderful teacher in drafting of his machines. I remember him like a favorite uncle.

Erwin has been in my church family for over 26 years. I have tremendous respect for Erwin. He was a devoted husband and a man of great integrity. I have countless memories of Erwin through the years. To know Erwin was to know of his wonderful smile and twinkle in his eye. If he took on a task, he was extremely thorough and committed. He was ALWAYS so very patient and selfless with Kathleen. Over the years I had finally learned that he was a man with a quiet spirit with a very loving and tender heart. I count myself very privileged to have had share a small part in his life.

Romans 4:20 No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God.

I share with the family and so many of Erwin's friends in the celebration of his life.

I worked with Erwin in Engineering at LeTourneau. He was one of the most brilliant Engineers I have ever had the honor of working with. A true innovator in the mining equipment world. There was never a problem that Erwin didn't have more than one way to solve. He was always willing to teach and mentor. His charisma and enthusiasm would light up the room and he was well respected by the mining community around the world.

My heartfelt condolences to his son Nelson (also an engineer at LeTourneau) and the Stoldt family.
