Ernestine Mabe's Obituary
Ernestine Mabe, 81, went to our Lord on October 27, 2023 at her home at Lake Cherokee after a long illness. Ernie (as she was lovingly called), was born in Longview on May 17, 1942 and graduated from Judson High in 1959. She worked many of her younger years as a teller at a downtown bank. Later as Office Manager/half owner of Mabe Manufacturing. She married Cecil Ray Mabe on March 19, 1965; the love of her life until his passing in 1996. She was loved by many; a caring, fun-loving, generous Lady we will miss greatly! She wanted no service, just to be beside Cecil and her parents at Memory Park Cemetary in Longview.
Survivors include her step-son Terry Lynn Mabe, his wife Nina Mabe of Lake Cherokee, step-son Bobby Ray Mabe of Longview; cousin Jean & wife Ani Bammell of Palestine, Tx., Connie Davis of Cypress, Tx., Susie & husband Larry Rezek of Spring, Tx. Plus extended family and friends. She was loved by all.
She was preceded in death by Cecil, sister Joyce Utzman of Kilgore, Tx., Mother Edna Corine (Williams) and Father Ernest Clarence Scharff of Longview, Tx., Special niece Shannon (Utzman) Gilley and nephews of Kilgore, Tx. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ernie requested that any memorials be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Highway 80 Rescue Mission in Longview. Our many thanks go to Visiting Angels, Prime Care Hospice and GSMC in Longview.
