Faye Matthis went to sleep in the arms of her Heavenly Father at the Hospice House in Ft. Worth, Texas on Sunday October 21, 2007
Funeral services for Elna Faye Mathis, 79, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Roddy Bland officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Faye was born February 6, 1928 in Anson, Texas to Charles & Inez Light. Loved and appreciated by many, Faye will be remembered for the kindness and love she showed to her family and many friends. Faye was very involved for years with the Eastern Star. Faye was deeply loved by her grandsons Chuck Harrell of Fort Worth & Travis Jones of Austin as well a family, friends, nieces and nephews
She was proceeded in death by parents Charles & Inez Light; husband, Austin Alvin Matthis; Daughter, Mary Faye Matthis Hobbs; Sons, Lynn Matthis and Travis Matthis; Brothers, Charles Leonard Light, Jesse Williard Light, William Doyle Light, Olvis Preston Light and sister, Berry Joyce Latham.
Survivors are her grandsons, Chuck Harrell & Travis Jones; brothers, Carrol Edward Light and wife Betty, James Durwood Light and wife Bernadette; Sister, Gladys Mozelle Bland; Sisters-in-law, Dorothy Light Wooten and Jenoice Light and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to: Community Hospice of Texas Hospice House at 1111Summitt Avenue, Fort Worth Texas 76102 who provided loving care and support during Faye?s last days.
