Edith Edie Ealey's Obituary
Edith Edie Ealey, 75, was born in Longview to Willis & Kathleen Sheffield, and attended Longview High School.
She had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Trice Production, and Martin?s Dress Shop for 20 years.
Edie knew her customers like dear friends. She enjoyed selling shoes.
Even after she retired, her customers, when she met them on the street, wanted her to come back to work. She missed them as much as they missed her.
Edie met William Bill Ealey and married him on November 26, 1949. They had one daughter; Sherry, and son-in-law Lance Bridwell of Longview; son,
Rick Ealey and daughter-in-law, Carolyn of Annapolis, MD, four grandchildren, Lacy Shillings, Gavin Bridwell of Longview, Allison and Erin Ealey of Annapolis, MD; brother, Wayne Sheffield and sister-in-law, Phyllis of Longview and many nieces and nephews.
Edie attended Winterfield United Methodist Church.. The Fellowship Class at Winterfield was also her family. She loved them all. She loved the Lord, life, and her family.
Special thanks go to Dr. Lewis Duncan and all the staff at the Longview Cancer Center, as well as Heartsway Hospice for the wonderful care they provided during the time of Edie?s illness.
Memorials may be made to Winterfield United Methodist Church, 2616 Tryon Rd., Longview, TX 75605 or the Longview Cancer Center, 1300 N. 4th St., Longview, TX 75601.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, September 2, 2005 at the Winterfield United Methodist Church with Reverend Michael Lindstrom officiating. Interment
will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
