Services for Dorothy Davis Cannon, age 86, of Longview will be held at First Christian Church in Longview on Saturday, August 17, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to service. Interment will Read Obituary
Dorothy truly was God's gift to our
family. I was privileged to know her through BSF. Her caring ways and
generous sharing of her time and prayers was a source of great encouragement,
especially when we were away
for many years in Africa. She will be missed.

Very sorry to learn about your mom. She was one of my favorite Longview people and I have great memories of her with the Shadewood Saddle Club and beyond. My sister Valerie joins me in extending sympathy for your loss. Dorothy Cannon was a wonderful, funny, gracious woman. I am better for having known her.

So sorry to hear about your mother. She was such a special lady- so
encouraging and always thinking of others even when she had her own
trials and challenges. I am so thankful for her love and honesty over
the many years since our paths first crossed in the late 80s.
I know she tirelessly prayed me through some tough times and for that I will be
forever thankful. Thanks for sharing her with so many of us who felt we
had a second mother/grandmother. Reading the other notes on this site
has made me realize just how many lives she touched.

I remember she always had a very styling car and she liked to drive just a little bit fast and you and I thought we were all cool !! I pray that God comforts you. Your mom was one was of the sweetest ladies I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Mrs. Cannon treated Aunt Nancy well and like part of the family. I have so many memories of Mrs. Cannon. She had a tremendous impact on me during my younger years. I'm proud to say that she inspired me to become an educator; she believed in me.

Shelley and Sharon, I just lost Daddy in April so I know
what your feeling. Please accept heartfelt condolences from me, Mom, and
Diana. I have wonderful memories of the time I spent the night at your house
and your mom made me close my eyes when we went to bed and she put a
"pringle" in my mouth. A pringle back then was a peanut butter
pretzel thing she made. Delish!! AND, I remember when she popped my rear-end
for scuffling in the bathroom during break, 4th grade, South Ward. She use to
take us out to ride Blondie back in the day, also. She will always be a
wonderful part of us. Love u, kim.
