My mind cannot go back far enough to remember a Thanksgiving without the tradition of a family meal in Longview TX. As an adult, I didn't always get to make that trip, but I will miss it in my life. Aunt Doris (actually my great aunt), was the epitome of southern hospitality. Always kind and caring, she loved her family and constantly served them. I think of her often with pleasant memories.
Thinking of you and wishing you strength and comfort in the days ahead. Doris was a very sweet lady and I enjoyed being in Sunday School class with her at Macedonia. She treated our class to many Christmas dinners through the years. She was a wonderful and special friend.
