As a child, Aunt Bernell was everything I wanted to be when I grew up. She was my hero and I idolized her more than words. She was strong, sensitive and loved to laugh...AND FISH! Aunt Burnell was very close to me, she shared stories with me about my grandpa Curtis Sallee,I always loved going to east texas for the reunions so that I could get some of her good cooking, I will always remember her. What an honor it was for me to get to know "Grandmother". I only wish that I could have known her longer.
