D. D. King Donnie D. King, a longtime resident of Longview, TX, passed away, Thursday evening, May 29, 2008 in Denton, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Richardson King. Don was born in Gladewater, TX on February 11, 1910. Don and Evelyn had two children. A son, William E. King of DeSoto, TX and a daughter, Linda Jane King of Flower Mound, TX, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He also had many nieces and nephews. Don was a 40 year employee with Texas & Pacific Railway and was general yardmaster of Dallas, TX when he retired in 1972. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2008 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be Sunday, June 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday June 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 8150 Brookriver Dr., Suite S-102, Dallas, TX 75247, the American Heart Association, 1125 Judson Rd., Suite 150, Longview, TX 75601, or to a favorite charity.
