Janis, now I know why I dreamed about you over the weekend and almost called you this morning. Angela called later today and told me about Donnie. Love to you and God's peace as you move from care taking to a life without Donnie's immediate presence.

Mrs. Canion, they tell me 40 years have passed since I had you for Senior English. So hard to believe that those memories and the fun we had are so far removed. You always spoke of Donnie and Bing as if they were part of the class, and we were happily brought into your world because of them! I have thought of you, more than you know, wondered about how Donnie was, and now I realize how blessed you and he were to have been partners in life. Janis and Bing my thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the coming weeks. Seeing this picture brings back such fond memories of Donnie! Just as I remember him when I worked with him at Gregg County. I loved sitting in his office and listening to his stories, a lot of them about Smiley, Texas! I learned to never question the price of a watermelon from Donnie!!! I loved hearing his horse stories. One day we snuck out of the office and he took me to the horse sale!!! Precious memories! Such a heart of gold. Rest in peace my friend.
