Don Milton Dingler's Obituary
Longtime Longview Police officer and former Police Chief, Donald M. Dingler, 68, passed away at his home in Longview on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.
Mr. Dingler was born on July 2, 1950 in Longview to Dr. Clark M. and Dorothy Dingler. A graduate of Longview High School he then continued his education at the University of Texas at Tyler with a degree in Criminal Justice. He furthered his criminal justice education at the National FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He worked as a police officer with the Longview Police Department for over 42 years; retiring as Chief of Police in 2015.
He was preceded in death by brother, Tommy and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Amy Dingler and her sons, Mark Secord and wife, Julie and son, Nicholas; Erik Secord and wife, Paige and daughters, Skye, Brittany and Falon; and Colin Straughan; His sister, Pat Barkley and husband, Jack of Longview and their children, Katie Loomis and husband, Johnny and Andrew Barkley. His brother, Jim Dingler and wife, Mary of Convent Station, New Jersey and their children, Allison Boggs and husband, Josh and Stephen Dingler.
Memorial services will be 2 pm Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Woodland Hill Baptist Church with Chaplain Terry Jackson officiating. Under direction of Rader Funeral Home.
