I regret that I am unable to attend the memorial service as we are out of state. Working with and for him for 31 years, I highly respected him as did others who knew him. My condolences to the family.
Chief Dingler was always very kind, understanding and courteous in every encounter I had with him when I worked for Emergency Communications. He will be sorely missed by all. Prayers go out to the family and those closest to him.

I am saddened to hear of Chief Dingler’s passing. My dad was Sergant Tex Bruce of the LPD. They go way back. I’m praying for the family during this difficult time.
Chief Dingler was a true professional and always calm and thoughtful in any situation. He was a great leader for the Longview PD and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with him. May he rest in peace and God bless his family.
I had the privilege of first meeting Don Dingler back in the mid 1980s when I first moved to Longview when he was a Lieutenant with the Longview Police Department, and I was a new Paramedic/Supervisor with Longview Fire-EMS. He immediately treated me with kindness along with that "signature smile." Then years later, I was privileged to work under him at the Longview Police Dept. both as a Patrol Officer and as a Police Sergeant when he was Chief of Police.
Don was a man dedicated to the citizens and visitors of the City of Longview in providing police services with dignity and professionalism. He always put service above self, as he extended his influence even after his retirement.
My prayers are for Chief Dingler's family and for those who loved and knew him well!
God Speed, Don Dingler!
David and I are so sorry to read this. Prayers for your family.
