My father, Don Houk, was a very special person. He was loving and caring and an inspiration to all who knew him. He enjoyed reading, loved music, and cared about animals. But most of all, he loved his family. And they loved him.

Don, or â??Pepaâ? as we all called him, was my grandfather. He was a man who loved life and lived it with dignity and humility. I never once saw him get angry unfortunately a trait I did not inherit. His mind was sharp even up to the day he died. He never complained or asked for sympathy. He was a humble man and an honest man. There was no one I had greater respect for.
