D.J. Jim Childers' Obituary
Funeral services for Jim Childers, age 81, will be held 10 a.m., Friday, 20 July 2012, at Rader Funeral Home. Jim was born to Andy and Florence Childers on March 25, 1931, in Chapmansville, W. Va. He joined the U.S. Air Force when 17 years old. He met and married Joy while stationed at Barksdale A.F.B., La. After serving 26 years, he retired and purchased the Longview Armstrong-McCall Beauty Supply Co. in 1976, and operated it for 10 years. Jim and Joy then sold their business and traveled extensively. He was a member of Longview 1st Assembly of God until moving to Oklahoma in 2010. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joy; son, Doug and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Dennis, Rebecca and husband Kevin; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jackson and wife Suzie, Robert and wife Sharon; sisters, Donna, Barbara and husband Hank, Nicki and husband Bill, Elizabeth and husband Butch.
