I fished with Derek back in the early 1980's with the Sportsman Bass Club. We were all surprised at what a good fisherman he was with all those "antiquated spinning reels" Little did we know how far ahead of us he was in technique.##imported-begin##mark ricks##imported-end##

I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Derek when I joined the Sportsman Bass Club Of Longview back in 1991. Derek was always cheerful and gave great input to many peoples lives.
