Dennis John Moon's Obituary
The Rosary for Dennis John Moon , 59, will be recited 7 PM Tuesday, January 27th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be 10 AM Wednesday at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with Father Gavin Vaverek and Father Gary Rottman officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park. Mr. Moon died Sunday evening.
He was born June 23, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Corpus Christi. He moved to Longview in 1977 and married his best friend Shirley Moon. Dennis was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and was an estimator for Satterwhite Log Homes. Dennis was an avid fisherman and dearly loved the coast and had recently purchased a retirement home in Port Aransas for himself and Shirley. He was a loving, caring person and loved to help those that were underpriviledged and in need. He will be sorely missed by all.
Dennis is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters, Deronda Flemister and Toni Kaye Moon and his son-in-law, James Flemister. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Robbie and Brittany Flemister. He looked upon his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law as his family. They are: Jeri Helton, Mary Planchart, Rose Wilson, Pam and Howard Childers, and Earl Wilson. His special nephews are: Jason Deeter, and Rory and Cody Childers. His extended family also includes his friends at Satterwhite Log Homes, especially Sam and Travonda Satterwhite. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Toni Moon and a brother, Gary Moon.
Active Pallbearers will be: Monty Stanley, Robert Tutt, Tim Cooper, Jeff McKinney, Howard Childers and Larry Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be Cary Crump, Kevin Sheehan, Don Estes, Alan Hindman, Rock Myers, Larry Bennett, and Randy Stringer. Family visitation will follow Rosary services Tuesday evening.
