Feeling very Blessed to have known Bro. David and Becky even though it was such a short time. Our Prayers go out to the children and family. Bob & Jean Clark
My utmost condolences go out to the family of Dr. Massey Sr. How comforting it is to know that your dear loved one has the wonderful privilege of resuming life again free from all causes of sicknesses, pain and suffering that sometimes ends in death. If you find the time please read Revelation 21:4.
I was working the sound board one Sunday morning at FBC Hallsville and Dr. Massey stopped by and asked how I was doing. I smiled and said, "I'm surviving". I was making my way through engineering school and had a rough week. He smiled back and said, "I know what you mean". Becky had already been diagnosed at the time, so I knew that 'surviving' had a different meaning for him. Still, in spite of their personal struggles and suffering, I always thought that he and Becky presented themselves with grace, strength of spirit, and sincere love for the people they were serving at the Church. What a great example they were to the rest of us.
The years that the Massey family was at First Baptist Church in Diana was a time of work, joy, outreach, spiritual growth and learning for my family. It is hard to pay tribute to Brother David and not include Becky. I have so many wonderful memories of Brother David and Becky. I used to love to hear how they talked to each other. You could hear love and respect in every word. Two of the most Godly, humble, intelligent, patient and loving people I've ever known. They were an amazing example. God bless you Mari Lynn, Michelle, Martha and David today and in the days ahead. As busy as your parents were working in the church, it didn't take away from their dedication to each of you and I admired them for that.
Love,
Tim and Karen Brunson
