To Bonnie and family,

A fraternity brother who was at Baylor Homecoming sent me an email today after I spoke at our AKPsi reunion last Friday night in Waco. I shared about some brief, fun, memories of our years together. I also shared about our phone call Thanksgiving weekend of 2008 just before he started down the dialysis journey. I also shared of our conversation about perfect healing and being in the presence of our Lord and Savior. My dad,,, who Dale knew and loved,,,, had already been down that same road in 1992. Dale was family to my family,,,, a true friend in spirit and in action, and one who practiced what he preached! He has been missed this past year, but I know we will see him again when we also meet Christ face to face in the future.

I was so saddened to hear about Dale. What a blessing it was to be able to work at the OCC with him. Dale was such a kind, caring person with everyone and encouraged the best in others.

His family was so very special to him; I know he will be missed very much. May our Lord give each of you an abundance of His comfort and peace.

Bonnie and Family--
Even when you do not talk to old friends for years, you just assume that they will always be a part of your life. Dale was like that. I have known him since days at Baylor and then with the OCC. Without his tuturing and guidance, my passing the commission test would have been difficult, at best. His kind, gentle spirit, combined with the "killer" frown were the perfect match for a father and friend. I remember how much he loved to read and reread classics and then discuss the meaninig of the written word. He will truly be missed by you and all of his friends. Bonnie and the Family: It has been many years since I last saw Dale. He was a great mentor in the OCC for so many of us. It was always clear that his family and faith were the drivers in his life. He kept other issues, like work, in the proper perspective. He reminded all of us to follow suit. He was a great example for all of us and we are going to miss him.

Bonnie and children,

Words cannot express the sense of loss upon hearing the news. His stature was intimidating to this novice examiner when I walked into the Midland Field Office in '84. His demeanor was stoic yet his amiable nature and reassuring candor surfaced to quell any uneasiness. Firm yet fair is what I recall those days from Dale as a willing mentor and valuable resource to all. Loss perhaps yet comforted in knowing that he is at peace and wishing us the same. What sad news I just received. I loved working with Dale, getting to know you and Tom. Just want to let you know how much he touched my life, he was always ready to teach and help, and have a good time at the same time. He reviewed my first report I turned in for the OCC in the late 1980s and the comments he made then still guide me in my review of Reports.
