Funeral services for Curtis Eugene Watson, Jr., 70, of Longview will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Kenneth Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery in Kilgore. Mr. Watson passed away Saturday, April 21, in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Watson was born February 18, 1942, in Houston, TX to Cleo Mable Wilke Watson and Curtis Eugene Watson, Sr. He was a retired employee of the Spring Hill Independent School District and worked in the athletic department. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in his yard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Nell Watson of Longview; children, Wendy and Mike Smith of Spring Hill, Shane and Lacy Watson of White Oak, Tony Watson and partner Paul Cathey of Arlington and Wendy and Jeff Griffin of Lewisville; grandchildren, Callie Corbell, Breanna Watson, Bailey Watson, Jordan Watson, Hailey Watson, Bubba Watson, Karisa Watson, Blake Watson, Cody Watson and Shelby Griffin; great grandchildren, Chloe and Hudson Serfass; sister and brother-in-law, Dottie and James "Crash" Tift of Hurst, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
