Dear Martha, I was privileged to have Clay as my godfather. I have wonderful memories of visiting Florida, Colorado, and Cayuga Lake and Lake O' the Pines and hearing the musical laughter of Clay. I know that he is endlessly happy now for "At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face"... for "when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away" 1 Cor 13

I did appreciate his good Christian heart and remember very well one instance when you two came to visit us. Clay picked up one of the Harvard Classics we have had on the shelf downstairs since we moved in here at the Lake. I think he is the only person who has ever picked one up and actually read it. I couldn't remember, of course, which one it was; but when I went down to look at the books a few moments ago, I noticed one was out of place Book #45. It didn't surprise me a bit when I read the title: "Sacred Writings 2". It was writings from his favorite book, "The Bible"! Our love and prayers are with you and the family.

It was my privilege to have Clay as a friend. We met in 1972 when IBM placed us in adjacent offices at Boulder, Colorado. I have always appreciated Clay's Christian stand and his knowledge of the Scriptures, in which his family can take great comfort in the promise of I Thessalonians 4:13-18. Our earthly loss is Heaven's gain.
