Funeral services for Clarence O. Surratt, 73, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2004 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Jones officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Colonial Gardens Cemetery, Marshall, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He passed away Thursday in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Surratt was born April 19, 1931 in Linden, Texas, to Morris and Alta Surratt. He served in the National Guard. In 1967, he moved to Longview from Marshall. He was a retired electrician from Lone Star Steel, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Longview.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Nell Surratt of Longview; daughters, Phyllis Odom of Norman, OK., and Anna Whitmore of Yuba City, CA.; grandchildren, Chrystal Shelton, Erin Weber and Donika Weber; 3 great grandchildren; and a special niece, Deloris Page and her family of Shawnee, OK.
