Sgt Westmoreland will be sorely missed at HQ Battery 14th Marines. He made a significant positive impact on the Marines around him.
The Family is in our thoughts and prayers.##imported-begin##CWO2 Clint Brown##imported-end##

No words can describe how deeply the loss of Sgt Westmoreland hurt us, but a
part of him lives on in his marines. Sgt Westmoreland helped mold me into the
Marine I am today, and I will pass on to my marines what he has taught me. To
his Wife and kids, I am deeply pained by your loss, and if there is ever
anything that you need please don't hesitate to ask.##imported-begin##Cpl James Smith##imported-end##
I didn't meet Wes until I returned home from Iraq in 2006, but over the next
couple of years he became a close friend and role model for the type of Marine
I strive to be every day. He always took care of his junior Marines and even
his leaders when they needed help. He was always willing to put his neck on
the line for any of us regardless of how little he knew that Marine. Sgt.
Westmoreland was one of if not the best tech in 14th Marines and among all
2887's. The loss of a great friend and leader can never be replaced, but his
memory will be carried on in our hearts and in the radar community.##imported-begin##Cpl Spencer Slider##imported-end##
Honest, trustworthy, and reliable these words can only do partial justice in
describing how great a man and outstanding a Marine Sgt. Westmoreland was.
Sgt. Westmoreland always pushed himself and his marines to strive to be not
only the best but to be proud of what they had accomplished. He will not only
be missed and honored, but remembered for the lessons, memories, and
relationships he gave to myself and other Marines.##imported-begin##Cpl Daniel Coate##imported-end##
