C. Wendell Brevard
was born to on December 3, 1936 in Beckville, TX to Emory and Maye Ellen Brevard. He passed away on July 13, 2007.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 33 years, Bobbie Nash Brevard; his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Eddie Woods of Diana, TX; his son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Leanne Furlow of Longview, TX; his daughter René Brevard of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also remaining are his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Mary Brevard of Kilgore, TX; brother-in-law Barnette Cordray of Marshall, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Cordray.
Wendell Brevard was a member of the Harleton Methodist Church.
He was a member of the Valley of Waco Scottish Rite for 30 years where he received his 4th through 32nd Degree. He has received the Honorary Degree of KCCH. He was an endowed member of both the Ashland Lodge # 1138 in Diana, TX and the Little Cypress Lodge#1459 in Harleton, TX. He is a Past Master of the Ashland Lodge. He was also a member of the Sharon Shrine in Tyler, TX, Sharon Mustang Patrol, the Sharon Oriental Band, and Sharon Golf Unit. He was a recipient of the Golden Trowel Award and the Potentates Samsar Jewel.
He was a loving husband, a wonderful Dad, and a great friend. He was a blessing to know and love, and we will miss him deeply.
His funeral will be at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, TX on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 10am with his burial following at Langley Cemetery in Beckville, TX.
