Like so many others who have written with tribute, my memories are all positive ones when I think of Mr. C.F. Kuykendall. In 1983, he and his wife, Ruth, opened their home in Tatum to the Graduating Class with a reception. I was in that class and remember how warmly they both greeted each of us and opened their home and their hearts to all young people in the community. That kind of thing, and these kind of people...they just don't happen any more!

Mr. Kirk was a giant of a man in my mind as an educator and principal at Pine Tree. He was a leader that taught us students many things....what was right and acceptable behavior and also how to have fun. We respected him, loved him and some feared him but he was always fair. I dare say there is not one student whose lives he touched that wouldn't say they are better for having grown up during his tenure at PT. RIP Mr. Kirk....

Mr. Kirk was such a fine man. He was a great example to
his students by the life he lived. I will always remember our last sweet
visit at the credit union. He was so much more than just an educator.

Melinda and Katie, we are so sorry for your loss. Mr. Kirk was a great Principal, friend and mentor. He and Mrs. Ruth were special in our lives. We will miss his hugs his laughs, and boy could he dance. He was a great man that touched so many lives. He certainly touched ours. Much love,
