I met Chuck and his family in February 1978 in Pennsylvania on our first visit to the church in Fairless Hills. His family and mine became instant friends due to the commonality of past aspects of our lives - both graduates of Murray State University and our wives had attended Abilene Christian University. I knew Chuck's brother Ron while at Murray State. The greatest bond was our love for the Lord and serving the Lord at that congregation in Pennsylvania.
Chuck's competitiveness was unbelievable as he never liked losing. In golf and racket ball, as much as I tried, and being seven years younger, I do not remember ever winning against Chuck. I will remember those fun times for many years to come in my life. I have been blessed by my friendship with Chuck and his family.
