Carroll D. Phillips' Obituary
Services for Carroll D. Phillips , 70, of White Oak will be 10 AM Saturday, February 5th at the Pine Tree Church of Christ, 3221 Dundee Rd, with Richie Hamm, Jon Tate, and Weldon Miller officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 PM at the Nevill?s Chapel Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Rader Funeral Home of Longview is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Phillips died Wednesday morning at a Longview medical center.
He was born October 8, 1934 in Mt. Pleasant to Nenian and Viola Wells Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a graduate of Abilene Christian University and had retired from Mobley Industries of Kilgore where he served as company controller. He was an active member of the Pine Tree Church of Christ having formerly served as a deacon and was currently an elder and had worked with the various youth programs and had served as a bible class teacher. He also had been actively involved as a member of the Kilgore Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife, Johnine Clanton Phillips of White Oak; Sons and daughters-in-law: Joe Dean and Karen Phillips of Lake Jackson and Jeff and Shelbye Phillips of Tyler; daughter and son-
in-law, Johnice Phillips Barnett and husband, Keith of West
Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren: Kristyn, Lyndsay, Cathryn , and Kelsey Phillips, Chase, Keaton, and Danielle Barnett, and Taylor and Makayla Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, LaFon Mason. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the building fund at the Pine Tree
Church of Christ at 3221 Dundee Rd, Longview, TX 75604.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Friday 6 to 8 PM.
