Carolyn Holbert Puckett's Obituary
Carolyn Holbert Puckett of White Oak, TX died on April 20, 2014. She was an only child to Clearance Edward Holbert and Edna Drew Holbert. Carolyn was born and raised in Dallas, TX and graduated from Adamson High School in 1955. She married Jack Weldon Puckett on January 26, 1957. They were married for 47 years until his death in 2004. From this union, came three children and seven grandchildren. Her grandchildren lovingly called her Gaga. In 1974 they moved to White Oak, TX. After moving to the Longview area Carolyn graduated from Nursing School. She was employed by Good Shepherd Medical Center and then worked at Internal Medicine Association until her retirement. After retirement, Carolyn & Jack enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. Carolyn always enjoyed singing in the choir at her church, where she was a member at Holy Trinity, now the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her son David Puckett and wife Barbara; daughter Donna Sallee and husband Billy; daughter Denise Green and husband Stewart all of White Oak, TX. She is survived by her seven grandchildren Sydney Sallee of Ft. Worth, TX, Shelby and Spencer Sallee; Katie and Allie Puckett; Alex and Jackson Green all of White Oak, Texas. The family would like to thank Fountainview Estates, CareTeam Home Health Services and Faith Hospice for their loving care to mom. In lieu of flowers make donations to Windridge Equestrian Center or Highway 80 Rescue Mission.
Funeral services will be 10 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, formerly Holy Trinity with Dr. William A. Rawlins and Rev. Beau Sullivan officiating under direction of Rader Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 until 7 pm.
