Carnes P. Alexander's Obituary
Carnes Pierce Alexander of Longview: devoted husband, world's best father, phenomenal grandfather, loving son and brother, amazing friend to everyone he met, and faithful Christian, passed away and went to go live with Jesus Sunday night, October 22, 2017, following an accident and sudden illness. He was 77 years old - born on February 16, 1940, in Whiteface, Texas. His loving parents were George and Fannye Alexander. He later married the love of his life Betty Anne Strong of Marshall, Texas, and they had two daughters, Dawn and Tricia. He dedicated his life to serving God, his family and his community. He was a telephone repair man for over 30 years, and most recently was the Building Maintenance Manager for Alpine Church of Christ in Longview where he was also a well-respected elder and church member.
He is survived by his wife of 49 beautiful years - Betty Alexander, his two daughters Dawn Alexander Stuber and Tricia Alexander Parr, 3 sisters - Janelle Sloane, Doris Lee and Shirley Sivert, 6 grandchildren - Tabitha Shafer, Amber Shafer, Stephanie Shafer, Carsen Shafer, Trinity Parr and Tesslee Parr, one great granddaughter - Jamie Olivia-Anne Cadenas, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and an infinite number of friends.
Family and friends invite you to join them for the visitation and viewing on Thursday, October 26 from 6:00-8:00 pm, and a Celebration of Memories of Carnes's life will take place on Friday, October 27 at 10:00 am, both at Alpine Church of Christ in Longview.
