Carl E Buce, Jr's Obituary
Carl E. Buce Jr., age 83, died peacefully on August 24, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Carl was born in Camden, Arkansas on September 12, 1929 and was a near lifetime resident of Longview. He was proud to serve the city for forty years as a member of the Longview Police Department. Carl was married to Barbara Brewton Buce for sixty years prior to her death in 2012. Carl and Barbara spent many happy years together and especially enjoyed their pets, their boats and their cabin at Lake Cherokee. Although they had no children they provided a home away from home to many out of state students attending LeTourneau University, teaching them water sports and generally extending Texas hospitality to their "adopted" children. Carl was also preceded in death by his father, Carl E. Buce, Sr. and his mother, Nellie Irene Buce. Carl is survived by his brother, Grant E. Buce and his wife Lucinda P. Buce of Houston, Texas, and nieces Melissa Kathryn Buce of Houston and Natalie Buce Oliver of Washington, D.C. Carl was buried in a private ceremony at Memory Park Cemetery next to his wife.
