C. F. Shirey
Funeral services for C. F. Shirey, 85, of Longview will be held at Ten O'clock Am Thursday February 14, 2008 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with H. L. Shirey officiating. Graveside services will be held at Three O'clock PM at the Atkins Cemetery in Homer, LA.; under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Shirey passed away Tuesday February 12, 2008 in Longview.
He was born August 19, 1922 in Bernice, Louisiana to Sam and Minnie Green Shirey.
He graduated Summerfield High School in Summerfield, La. And attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La.
He was an Evangelist with the Church of Christ faith.
He is survived by his wife, Frances of Longview, daughters, Judy Fine of Longview, Anita Sutton of Longview, son H. L. Shirey of Henderson, brother, Melvin Shirey of Shreveport, La. grandchildren, Mance Fine, Heather and Cody Blount, Heidi and Danny Murphy, Lee and Pat Shirey, Jill and Chris Shelby, Kaylee and Devon Loftis, and two special granddaughters, Mary and William Gilbert, and Jayme Westbrook, great-grandchildren, Cade and Corben Blount, Ryann and Rylee Murphy, Panebi Nikki Shirey, Fred Shelby, and special great-grandchildren, Destinee Smith and Monique and Chanel Walters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother David Shirey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday February 13, 2008 from 6pm to 9pm.
