I had the privilege of calling Bonnie my friend for many years. Our love for our children brought us together in Scouting, and when her heart led Bonnie into parent education, she allowed me to go along. After many wonderful adventures, we each followed a path to early childhood education, where her gift for helping families was magnified. Bonnie was an amazing woman who touched countless lives with her smile and her caring heart. I will always remember her passion for life, for children and families, and her tireless dedication to the community. Bonnie was my aunt and someone that I could always talk to when I needed advice. She treated my two sons, ages 3 and 6 like they were her own grandchildren and they loved her very much. She was always worried about others right up to the end when she told me "Let me know if you ever need anything." These were some of the last words she spoke to me when my family visited her in the hospital here in Colorado. Bonnie will always be an inspirtation to me and if I ever have any questions I hope she will be listening and give me some sign of what I should do if I have a problem. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Bonnie was one of the first teachers that extended her hand to me when I came to Longview. Her tireless dedication and benevolence to children has been hugely inspirational. Bonnie was such a positive person with an infectious laugh. Even during all her treatments and illness, I never once heard her complain. From the first time I met her at a PTA Conference to the last time our group of retired PTA ladies met for lunch, she was all about children. First, there was the love she had for her own two sons, Mark and Tony and then she the love she had for all the ones she so tirelessly worked for through her vocational choices. A paraphrased saying goes that In the Beginning God made the world, he made treasures for us to discover like life and love and people like Bonnie. She was truly a treasure and will be greatly missed.

Bonnie was my purple partner with Head Start. She was so elegant and a tremendous trainer. She will not be forgotten as we remember all the many influences she had on all of our lives. I have so many wonderful memories that include Bonnie - she's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember! Most recently, I was blessed to spend time with her at my baby shower in October - where she absolutely spoiled us as we prepared for the arrival of our first child! Our son, Lance, is now two weeks old and we have regularly been reading to him the books that Bonnie selected - including our favorites and hers! - 'Where the Wild Things Are' and 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'... She has always had such a heart for families - strong marriages and healthy parenting. I hope we can live up to the lessons she taught me over the years. What a beautiful person!
