Fergie scared me by stepping in front of my speeding car in LHS school zone on Third Street in 1969. Before I got to work, he has already called my Dad T Eastman to inform him I was speeding. Even though he scared me, he did me a huge favor. I never sped again. To this day, I can remember him smiling at me the whole time. He was a great influence on many teens. Praying for Billy Joe’s daughters and extended family during this difficult time. We sure enjoyed the times he would drop by for a visit or to talk motorcycles with us. He always had a smile and a funny story to share. Billy Joe was a good friend and loved by so many.
Billy Joe was truly a blessing in my life, and also a blessing to my mom and dad's lives. My parents enjoyed fishing with Billy Joe and Hilma, eating out together, living across the street from one another, and spending time with each other's families. I enjoyed the many visits we had together, and the fun we had when Billy Joe was in the room. He was a wonderful husband, father, and a good friend to my parents and to me. I will miss him terribly. He was one of the good guys! My heart aches, but I know he and Hilma are together again. Praying for the Ferguson family.
Please accept my condolences, Billy Joe was a good man. I worked with him at the LPD during the 70s and he was special. He told me many times “I like to have fun” and it was always fun to be around him. He was a good guy.
