Billy David Secord's Obituary
Memorial services for Billy David Secord, Jr., 49, of Longview will be 12 Noon Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael C. Macey, Jeff Christian and Rev. Dewayne Beaty officiating under direction of Rader Funeral Home. Private burial will precede the services at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
David was born June 17, 1957 in Longview to Billy D. and Nell Secord and he died Saturday, July 15, 2006 in Longview.
He was a 1975 graduate of Spring Hill High School and received his Associate of Photographer from Kilgore College, B. S. of Social Work from Stephen F. Austin and his M.S. Social Work from UT at Arlington.
He had worked at Texas Eastman for 15 years, then at Good Shepherd Medical Center where he was manager of social work. He was extremely excited about his new position as Administrator for Greater Hospice of Texas.
David was the most caring, generous, and loving man we?ve ever known.
He loved the Lord with all his heart, dedicated to his family and children. He had a heart for helping people. He was close to his friends, he loved life and spending time with his family.
He loved watching Michael play football and he enjoyed playing golf and being with his family and he adored all of his children.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; son, Michael of Longview and his mother, Debbie Secord; mother, Nell Secord of Longview; brother, Marty Secord and wife, Kelli and their daughter, Jordan and son, Will all of Frisco, TX; brother, John Secord of Branson, Missouri and his daughters, Lauren and Kristin Secord of Longview; Father and mother-in-law, Arles and Joan Vandiver of Sulphur Springs; Stepchildren, Kendrah and Brad Tennison, Todd and Linsey Beall, Kimberli Beall and Kayla Avery all of Longview; Grandchild, Olivia Tennison; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Secord and his grandparents, Dee and Verna Secord and Woodroe and Sibyl Martin.
