Billy Coolidge's Obituary
William “Billy” Jonathan Coolidge III set sail on his final voyage on February 8, 2025, at
the age of 67. Born on February 3, 1958, in Longview, Texas, Billy was a man of
boundless spirit and relentless curiosity. He embraced life as a sailor, adventurer,
seeker, entertainer, artist, and musician. He carried the honor of being the eldest son
with dignity and responsibility, a role he cherished.
Billy lived life on his own terms—boldly, unapologetically, and always with a mischievous
twinkle in his eye. His humor and charm, coupled with a hint of rascality, made him truly
unforgettable. His presence filled every room with laughter, leaving a lasting impression
on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
From an early age, Billy was drawn to nature and had an unparalleled love for animals.
His passion for adventure led him to become an Eagle Scout, a commitment to service
that continued throughout his life. As a petty officer, he proudly served his country in the
United States Navy as a Helicopter Aircrewman and Rescue Swimmer of the highest
caliber, earning recognition as an Aviation Warfare Specialist. His dedication and
bravery were honored with the Humanitarian Service Medal.
After his military service, Billy pursued his education at Hawaii Pacific University. His
career was as dynamic as he was—owning a seafood company, traveling the world,
and later returning to Texas. He established William Coolidge & Associates in Dallas, a
respected real estate brokerage specializing in commercial real estate. Whether
navigating the open seas or exploring new cultures, Billy lived fully and fearlessly,
always seeking the next great escapade.
Billy leaves behind a legacy having the heart of a warrior and the soul of a rescuer. He
was creative, passionate, and had an unbreakable spirit that will live on in the hearts of
those who knew and loved him. His family, friends, and all who shared in his journey will
forever carry his memory in their hearts.
