Betty Lee Waits' Obituary
Funeral services for Betty Lee Waits, 89, will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview at 2pm. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, from 5-7 PM for friends to gather and pay their respects to Mrs. Waits. Betty Waits went to be with the Lord in the early afternoon of March 29, 2018.
Betty was born in Gage, OK on February 24, 1929 to parents Francis and Georgia Miller. She graduated from the Longview High School and then attended the Mary Hardin-Baylor University. Betty had a very personal relationship with her heavenly father and was a longtime member of the New Journey Church (formerly First Cumberland Presbyterian Church) having joined their congregation in 1949 and serving as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher for many years. She cherished the time with her family and sharing with them her love of country music.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Waits; her parents; her adopted father, Hubert Meyer; and her sister Barbara Meyer Crouch. Those left to cherish their memories of Betty include her daughter, Charolette Waits Ebersole and her husband Mike; son, Philip Waits; granddaughter Janin Colette Miller and her husband Chuck; and grandson Greg Ebersole; great-grandchildren, Colton Jacob Miller and Dawson Lee Miller and Logan Miller. Betty will also be remembered by her special loved ones Robin, Jake, Kendal, Landon, Deborah, and Melissa Sowell.
