B.J. was a kind, generous and loving woman. Grandmother to my husband, I claimed her as my own. We will miss her contagious laughs, understanding eyes, stories of the past, remedies, chicken fried steak and beautiful smile.

Betty was born in OK, kin to Will Rogers, and made it to TX as soon as she could. It's a good thing, too, because she had a true 'Texas woman's' heart...
* Fiercely loyal and devoted to family and friends.
* Always busy, never idle, worked nonstop in house, yard--and elsewhere, to help others out.
* Had a curious, inquisitive mind: Knew lots of stuff, knew how to fix lots of stuff; if not, knew where to go for answers.
* always good to plants, animals, and people.

Ms. Hays, I am going to miss you. You were a wonderful friend of mine and my families for years. I'll never forget how caring you were. When I was a child I would stop and talk with you while riding my bike. And of course you bandaged me up after my infamous wreck in front of your house.
