Betty Jackson Helms' Obituary
Betty Jackson Helms Funeral services for Betty Jackson Helms, 73, of Longview will be held at 12 Noon Monday, July 31, 2006 at the First Assembly of God Church, 2900 N. Fourth St., Longview, with the Reverends Randy Carter and A. A. Callaway officiating. Burial will be in Morris Cemetery, near Gilmer, Texas. She passed away Thursday evening is a Longview hospital. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Helms was born July 1, 1933 in Columbus, GA. to Walter M. Jackson, Jr. and Mildred Brookins Jackson. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. For fifty-four years she stood faithful along side of her husband who was in full time ministry with the Assemblies of God. Mrs. Helms was always lending a helping hand to her family and friends. She was always thinking about other people no matter what her situation was. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and will forever be in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter M. Jackson, Jr. and her son, Walter Neal Helms. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Nathan Helms of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Letha and Ted Dwigans of Houston and Lana and Larry Gabriel of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren, David Dwigans, Aron Warren and wife Monica, and Sean Gabriel; great granddaughter, Ariana Warren; mother, Mildred Jackson of Columbus, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Mary Jackson of Pensacola, FL and Gerald and Barbara Jackson of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
