Betty Carol Baker's Obituary
Betty Carol Baker, formerly Betty Carol Twitty, precious widow, beloved mother, and adored Mimi went Home to be with her sweetheart Roger on June 7, 2019. She was 82 years of age and lived a life full of rich blessings.
Betty was born in Bradley, Arkansas on January 25, 1937. She was so beautiful that her father said it took them days to find a worthy name. Being an only child, she was cherished in a special way. That is where she developed her fierce love of family.
Betty went back to school at the age of 36 and graduated with her teaching degree. She was a genuine, loving teacher and treasured each one of her students. She loved playing bridge with her friends, spoiling her grandchildren, and traveling with the love of her life and their two daughters. A favorite memory of the family was her 80th birthday party. It was a huge turnout and showed the impact she had on others and how well loved she was by so many. She had a devoted love for Dillard’s that she passed on to each of her granddaughters. She and Roger were members of Greggton United Methodist church for many years. When talking about not liking change, her last words about Jesus were that He is our only constant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Dawson Twitty and Meva Dora Twitty. Her husband Rogers Post Baker and her son in law, Jonathan Decherd. She is survived by her two daughters and son in laws, John and Sandy Turner; Chezi and Kim Borhani. Her grandchildren, Lindsay and Chris Cochran, Ryan and Summer Borhani, Leslie Turner, Danielle Decherd, Zachary Turner, and Mallory Decherd. Her great grandchildren, Benson Ryan Borhani and Coby Tate Cochran.
Visitation will be held at Greggton United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 11th at 10am with the funeral immediately following at 11am. Suggested family donations may be made to Greggton United Methodist Church or charity of choice. A special thanks from the bottom of our hearts to her precious caregivers; Cita Huerto, Evelyn Parker, Alicia Robinson, Amber Stevens, the staff at Arabella Assisted Living, and Heartsway Hospice.
Arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home, Longview. An online memorial book may be signed at www.raderfh.com
