Bettie Wood's Obituary
Bettie Wood passed away on January 18th, 2021 at the age of 66 in her hometown of Tatum, TX. Bettie was born to Rueben and Gladys Storch on March 21st, 1954.
Bettie is survived by her husband Robert Wood. (who she met in Laredo while carrying a red balloon in her mouth) She is also survived by her daughter Vona Nicholson, her son Jason Wood, her granddaughter Lindsey Pena, her grandson Mason Nicholson, and her great granddaughter Tessa Pena. Bettie is also survived by all of her loved ones that called her "Mama Wood" as she was a mother to all that knew her.
Bettie was a member at the First Baptist Church of Tatum where she enjoyed fellowship with her church family spreading the word of God. Bettie was filled with love and happiness for all things but none more so than her love for her Dauchsands. She enjoyed smiley faces, corny jokes, and working on her genealogy helping others track down and learn about their own family history. Bettie beamed with love for her family, smiled with positivity for the world, and could hug the pain right out of even the most hurt person. Heaven is lucky to have such an Angel for she will be missed by all that knew and loved Bettie Wood.
Funeral services for Bettie Wood will be held Saturday, January 23 at 2 pm at First Baptist Church of Tatum. A burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens in Henderson.
