Bettie was always full of joy! She loved Her Heavenly Father, her family and her church family. I can remember for years how her & Bob would decorate their yard for Christmas. It was a sight to see! She would say if can drive my, honk! I drove my many times & honked! Bettie will be greatly missed.
I had the honor of meeting Bettie when she fell in love with a little Doxie puppy that needed a home. Our rescue thought that of all those that wanted Candy, Bettie would be the best Mom.
On the morning of my 50th birthday, I was awakened by the phone and when I answered, I was treated to the most amazing rendition of the Beatles' "Today is Your Birthday!". And she sang the whole thing! I didn't know Bettie well but we shared a love of dachshunds, family history and having fun. To her family - I wish you Peace.
Bettie had the best since of humor, always joking and laughing. I will miss her birthday day song, the "corn of the day" jokes. I miss you already.❤️
One Christmas we had a Sunday School party at Bettie’s house, and we were going to play Dirty Santa, where you can take a gift away up to 3 times. I had secretly showed Vona when nobody was around, that I had gotten 2 cup towels and 2 oven mitts with smiley faces. Vona told everyone secretly not to let her mother win that prize because she had some other smiley face things she was going to give her for Christmas. When we were playing, Bettie took it away from somebody, and Bettie said “nobody’s going it take it away from me,’” and she blew her nose on the cup towel. Then it was Vona’s turn, and she took it from Bettie, and Bettie couldn’t believe it. In the end, Vona did give her all the smiley face gift, plus some other smiley face things she had bought her. We were all laughing so hard. That’s usually how all of our fellowships were when Bettie was around.

I will always remember the way she made us laugh. Our Sunday School class was eating at Papacita’s years ago, and on Bettie’s way to the restroom, she saw some people celebrating a birthday, and they had a cake with a smiley face on it. She picked the cake up and ran into the other room where we were just to show us the cake. The people she took the cake from didn’t even know what was happening. We made her take the cake back to the table, and we made her explain how much she loved smiley faces. Everyone had a good laugh.
We also loved the way she sang Happy Birthday to all of us.
She will be greatly missed.

I remember when my kids were young it was Halloween, and my husband Gary and I took them over to Betties house and other houses to trick or treat. I got out with the kids walked them up to the door. Of course it was a scary moment the kids jumped cause Bettie liked to scare them. But then she went and crept up to my car where Gary was waiting. And jumped up at h and scared him to death !! It wS classic Bettie 😁 Love you and miss you Bettie !
