Bess Land Nelson passed away on Oct. 29, after a brief illness. Mrs. Nelson was a retired business woman and school teacher, having taught at Hill High School in Henderson. Mrs. Nelson had also taught at Texas Baptist Institute in Read Obituary
I remember Bess well from when I lived in Henderson and substitute taught. She taught me a great deal! Glenda, I was Debbie Fountain then. To the family of Ms. Bess Nelson, May God bless you in your time of sorrow. Ms. Nelson, was my Business Law teacher at Henderson High School, when I graduated in 1989 she personally delivered my gift to my house and visited with family. My mother thought a lot of Mrs. Nelson. She use to tell me that I could be anything that I wanted to be, if I would just shut my mouth ! I am now a nurse here in Longview, have been now for several years. I think of her often. I know that I should have given her flowers while she was living, but it's too late. I pray to God that we all will see her again one day.
