Ben C. Maines' Obituary
Funeral services for Ben Comer Maines, 87, of Longview, will be at 10am, Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Winterfield United Methodist Church, Jay Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery of Longview.
Ben was born May 14, 1925, in Panola County. He enjoyed the country boy's life, and worked various jobs in the Carthage area. He won the heart of Bonnie Jean, who he shared 58 years of marriage.
Ben and Jean moved to Longview, for a new job. They co-founded, Ben Maines Air Conditioning Company, in the early fifties. A firm, that continues to operate to today.
Ben was appreciative of his past/present employees and associates over the years. Has he always said, "It is we, not me."
He was preceded in death by son, Gary Maines, and his wife Jean.
He is survived by his children, Barry Maines and wife Liz of Longview, Randy Maines and wife, Karen of Longview, and Patti Wunneburger and husband, Doug of Bryan; grand children, Melissa Newman, Mindy Nicholson, Alicia Taylor, Anne Wunneburger, Abby Wunneburger, Aaron Wunneburger, Amee Foster, Chris Linton, and great-grand children, Brennan Nicholson, Colton Nicholson, Sophie Neuman, and Colby Linton.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the care givers, and the prayers, from friends and family.
