Barbara Bordelon Steinbach's Obituary
Barbara Jean Bordelon Steinbach age 85 passed away on June 6, 2022. Barbara was surrounded by her family and friends. Rosery and Mass will be held at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 2800 Pine Tree Road, Longview Tx 75604, on Monday June 13th starting at 10am for Rosery with Mass to follow. Burial will immediately follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview Tx. Barbara was born May 31, 1937 in Kilgore Tx and preceded in death by her parents Leonce and Grace Bordelon and only sister Norma Ray Norris. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 44 years, Joseph C. Steinbach of Longview Tx. and her five children, Terry E. Copeland and wife Kathy, Danny R. Copeland and wife Brenda K. Copeland, Gina M. Lee and husband Roger, Kevin P. Copeland and Leigh A. Decker. Barbara is survived in death by her Grandchildren Jeremy Copeland and wife Samantha, Brandon Copeland and wife Madison, Alicia Copeland Holson and husband Troy, Cameron Copeland, Camie Copeland McFarland and husband Nick, Spencer Copeland and wife Chelsea, Jacob Copeland and wife Stacia, Zach Decker and wife Candace, Sara Decker Paules and husband Jeff. Barbara is also survived by her two step children Gary Steinbach of Tyler and Carol Barker of Bullard Tx. Barbara enjoyed loving on all her 16 grandkids and 14 great grandkids as she shared her heart with them.
Barbara began her nursing career at Good Shepherd Hospital after graduating from LVN school in Longview Tx, she wanted to learn more and became an RN in Kilgore Tx. Barbara worked at Roy H Laird hospital in surgery before moving to Henderson Tx. and working at Henderson Memorial hospital in surgery and many other areas. Barbara also worked for Dr. Sue Williams OBY GYN and taught LVN school for a number of years in Henderson. Barbara retired from teaching and went to work for Jordan Home Health agency out of Mt. Vernon Tx. before fully retiring. Barbara and Joe enjoyed lots of traveling and lived in Wisconsin during the summer months, they also enjoyed fishing, painting, cooking, garage sales and meeting new friends that have always lasted a lifetime in their hearts. Barbara sang in the choir at the Henderson First Presbyterian, St. Andrews Presbyterian in Longview Tx and currently at St. Matthews Catholic Church of Longview. We will miss this Beautiful Wife, Mother, Friend and Gran Gran.
