In many ways, Barbara was like a second big sister to me. When she came into my family; I was so happy to discover how sweet a person she was even though she was so beautiful. Her eyes sparkled all the time, not just when she was happy about something that had happened. She listened to me always and encouraged me in many things. I remember one time when she and my brother, who were married at that time, asked me to baby sit for them while they went to some event that would last long into the night. There were only the three kids then: Terry, little Danny and baby sister, Gina --- oh. and Princess, their Chihuahua dog who was supposed to help the one who had asthma. All went well until one of the boys wanted a glass of water. I brought it to my nephew and went back to my bed, the hide-a-bed couch in the living room. It wasn't very late; but as I was almost asleep, I heard a little commotion in the kitchen and went to check on it only to find that one of the boys had pulled some eggs out of the carton and onto the floor! After cleaning all those broken eggs up, I had to fix another problem! One of those rascally boys had put something into the commode and stopped it up! It took me a while to get that all cleaned up and the commode back into service. When I checked on all three kids, they were sound asleep like little angels. Not long after that and right about the time I was almost asleep, my brother and Barbara returned home. I told them all that had gone on. I'm not sure if we laughed then or if the humor of the experience took a few days to show up; but, I never wanted to baby sit any child after that time. I was glad that Gina was just a baby or who knows what else I would have had to clean up or fix during that night! Princess the dog slept snuggled up with me for the rest of the night. Except for this one night, all of my nephews and nieces: Terry, Danny, Gina, Keven and Leigh Ann, were simply delightful children and grew up into handsome, beautiful and intelligent people who are joys for everyone to be around. May God comfort you all and all those others who were an important part of Barbara's life and gave her much love.
