Dr. Barbara Pankhurst's Obituary
Longview – Dr. Barbara Pankhurst, 85, of Longview, died Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in Longview after a long struggle with cancer and kidney disease.
At Dr. Pankhurst request, no family visitation or funeral service will be scheduled. Private burial will be held at Ore City Cemetery.
She was born October 2, 1940 in Gilmer. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Longview and Chapel of South Fork in South Fork, Colorado. She graduated from Gilmer High School in 1958. She received an AA degree from Kilgore College: BS from East Texas Baptist University: MBA from East Texas State University and EdD from North Texas State University. From 1962-1965 she taught business classes at Ore City High School. In 1997 She retired from Kilgore College after teaching office administration classes for 31 years.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother. Audy and Maxine Bassham, and husband, John Pankhurst.
Dr. Pankhurst outlived most of her closest relatives but leaves behind numerous cousins and friends. If desired, memorials may be made to House of Hope Women’s Shelter, 3011 W.
