Arthur Walter Wininger's Obituary
LONGVIEW—Arthur W. Wininger, 86, died Thursday, November 22nd, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida where he was being treated for pancreatic cancer.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Peggy Wininger; his four children, Ann Whitehurst, Linda Kiser, Steve Wininger, and Mike Wininger; his two grandchildren, Kelly Kiser and Rachael Wininger; and many close friends.
Mr. Wininger is a veteran of World War II, in which he served as a Navy Radioman aboard the Attack Transport U.S.S. Harris. After the war, Mr. Wininger earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. He loved to take his family on trips across the country. He journeyed with his wife and four children to Colorado, Canada, and the Texas coast. The family went deep-sea fishing and enjoyed other outdoor recreation, and through it all, Mr. Wininger fostered a sense of curiosity and wonder in his children.
